Both of these narrative shorts were completed as the final project in my Intro to Video Production course at The University of New Mexico.
When Life Gives You a Keg was my first experience directing a short film. The production experience was where I really fell in love with the practice of directing a film crew. It was shot over the course of one day on the UNM campus.
The Study of Jesse Neary is a mockumentary I edited for the same course. The film was based on a loose script by Olivia Sim and featured heavy improvisation guided by director Dominic Valdez. As editor I took long improvised scenes and worked to turn them into a condensed and engaging story. The experience taught me a lot about how the editor can rewrite a story in the post production process.
